Van-Am Tool & Engineering is a custom manufacturer located in St. Joseph, MO. We are currently interviewing strong candidates for a variety of positions to join our outstanding team!

We are seeking dependable employees for General Labor - Production positions for ALL SHIFTS. Responsibilities include operating machinery in the manufacturing area, assisting with additional workload, covering absences and vacations, and supplementing crews to meet unusual changes in the production area.

Day Shift: 5:00AM - 3:30PM, M-Th - 4 Days

Night Shift: 6:30PM - 5:00AM, M-Th - 4 Days ($2.00/hr. Differential)

Weekends: 6:00AM - 6:30PM, F-Su - 3 Days (11% Differential)

General Labor Responsibilities:

• Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains a work area free from debris and dirt, readies or puts away tools as assigned.
• Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery and assembly lines.
• Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

General Labor Required Skills/Abilities:

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to work in a variety of roles.

General Labor Education and Experience:

• Previous experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• On the job training provided.

General Labor Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds, twisting and turning requirements at times.
• Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and noises associated with the plant.
